Me: "Do you think my hair looks long? I straightened it so it would look longer."
DF: "Well, it's longer. I wouldn't call it 'long' though."
Me: "Oh well, I read somewhere that if your hair doesn't grow for two months you should see a doctor."
DF: "You really thought you might be sick because your hair is short?"
Me: "Yes."
DF: "And what is going to happen to you, when you have real things - like mortgages, relationships, jobs and babies - to worry about?"
Ouch. I was only trying to discuss my hair.
