My friend Brookie gave birth to a little girl last week, her name is Ivy Jean. Ivy didn't cry once in the few hours I was with her - even when I sung! - and was so aware of what was going on around her. Ivy was born amid chaos and stress and a time of hardship for those around her but is the most poignant reminder of what is important in life. Her name means 'God's gift'; her middle name Jean is Hebrew for 'God is gracious'.
Whatever or whomever it is that we believe, it is clear there is something much higher than us and has plans for us long before we realise them or can make sense of them.
